BROKEN
Type | 2019
Broken was 6 week long process of being in and out of the woodshop. Taking a word and creating a meaning for it through type design and woodworking.
The word "Broken" had meaning to me when I thought of the game Jenga. Playing this game with my brother growing up and always losing created this act of always breaking the tower. This inspiration for this kind of guided it into being a modular typeface. I designed a modular typeface with simplistic 3-D geometric shapes and acrylic to shape these wood blocks into 2x3 letters to form the word vertically.
